Iron Absorption
March 3, 2004

Several sources suggest taking calcium with meals containing iron-rich foods lowers the absorption of iron, Lloyd. And, of course, if one takes calcium it's best to 'balance' that with magnesium, zinc as well as vitiamin D (to help calcium absorption, especially in winter months if there is little exposure to sunlight -- like here in Iowa).

my 2 cents...
